Las Vegas - The 48th annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) had its three-day run at the Las Vegas Convention Center in late April.
Karen Strauss, president of Masco Builder Cabinet Group, delivered a "State of the Industry" address at KBIS, in which she reviewed the volatility of the market of the past few years and the issues that are expected to influence the uneven growth of the industry in the immediate future. Still, she saw many bright spots, including the ipt urn of repair and remodeling. "We see a sustainable rebound." she reported.Strauss also focused on the "New Customer," who has higher expectations than ever before and relies heavily on social media and the Internet to make major decisions. "Mobile technology has forever changed the way purchases are made," she stressed, citing that 64% of purchase decisions are now being made online.--* BASCO CORP.
